My client is looking to recruit a Food/Drink Buyer who will join this leading Food Retail business located in the London area.

Main Responsibilities:
Your overall goal will be to drive and support the achievement of the food innovation plan, product plans and commercial budget, by working closely with the Food, Technical and Commercial teams.
This will involve specific responsibility for effective sourcing of products to meet quality, brand values, availability and cost requirements through the effective and ongoing management of the supplier base. 
The scope of the role will involve product sourcing and product costing of specified food product areas.
Wider commercial responsibility to maximise the sales and profit from specified product areas, in order to achieve the food innovation priorities and commercial budget requirements. Influencing range decisions for your specified product categories through effective working with the Range Manager and Food Team. 
You will be responsible for the ‘account management’ of suppliers and to provide overall management of the supplier partnership relationship.
To negotiate costs with suppliers that will meet budget, deliver the best financial deals, while achieving a sustainable relationship with the supplier.
Key Skills Required:
Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
Good understanding of purchasing processes and practices in a fast moving food retail/service organization
Excellent Negotiation, Influencing and Project Management skills
Good understanding of factory production processes and shop operations
A working knowledge of open book costing
Strong computer skills – Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Strong supplier management skills
The role will include nationwide travel, with the possibility of international travel on occasions.

My Client, a leading retailer based in London requires a talented Food Buyer with at least 5 years experience within the food industry.

Main Responsibilities:
To drive sales and market share whilst delivering profit through strategic buying.
Lead the category buying team in the delivery of commercial objectives.
Work cross functionally with the technical and product development teams to create the best offer for customers though focused ranges and promotions by delivering the category plan.
Determine the overall supply base and procurement plan.
Collaborative working with supply base and category team to plan and implement promotions, NPD, exceptional trading, seasonality, peaks and events.

Key Skills Required:
Open to any food product background as long as you have a strong passion for food.
A proven track record in a similar role is required and in particular experience within a retail background would be advantageous, although experience in a foodservice environment would also be considered.
Previous buying experience is essential together with excellent negotiation skills and the ability to deliver to tight deadlines. 
Strong communication and relationship building skills are required.
You will need to be very commercially aware, with strong trading and innovation skills.
Strong strategic and analytical skills are also required.

I am looking to recruit a Category Buyer for my client that is based in Hertfordshire, this is a fantastic opportunity to work for a hugely successful foodservice business.

Main Responsibilities:
To proactively identify and manage the delivery of Category Strategies and optimize business expenditure and ensure the value of bought in goods and services are optimized to meet the overall business objectives.
Ensure that cost prices are agreed within the targets provided by the Sales Strategy.
Negotiate new contracts and maintain supply arrangements, achieving the most favourable terms and conditions.
Provide the right product as agreed with the technical team and to ensure delivery to the appropriate location in the right condition, format and time in accordance with operational requirement.
To research new commodities, concepts and ideas to ensure the business is appraised of latest market development and opportunities for profit maximisation.
To develop range strategies working seamlessly with cross functional colleagues.
Drive food development and range extensions to meet changes to customer demands including NPD, range rationalisation, fit for purpose and in keeping with consumer trends.

Key Skills Required:
Good negotiation, presentation and customer facing skills
Ability to analyse data
Proven track record of operating as a buyer within any food category such as ambient, frozen, chilled or drinks
Strong supplier management skills and awareness of the supply chain process.
Ability to manage own budget and P&L responsibility
Self motivated individual who is passionate about their work
